01 UX/UI
Tic-Tac-Trivia had already been functioning for about a year and a half when I inherited the project; however, it had never had a designer work on it, only developers. When I joined the team, I was given the task to redesign the app, while staying within the look-and-feel bounds already established. The also had lots of user data and feedback from it being live for a while, so I was able to reference that feedback for a starting point. I decided to start with the mobile adaptation, since that seemed to be the preferred format of most users.
02 MOBILE
The mobile version of Tic-Tac-Trivia tends to be the method most users interact with, as it’s usually sent to them via email, or provided via QR code at group events. Therefore, it was important for me to revisit this version first. One challenge I faced with this was how much information had to be on each screen. Not only did the logo have to be included, but we also needed to provide users with a way out of the quiz, display their points/time/bonus, the game board, the quiz questions, and be able to adapt that to fit when they answered the question and received the result.

The last step of the process was to design a website for marketers to visit to make their own Tic-Tac-Trivia quiz. Recently, TTT has moved to a paid model, so businesses can subscribe to the service to use it an unlimited amount of times. The website needed to capture the fun, colorful setting of the game, but also appeal to marketers, so it needed to strike a balance between flashy and informative.
Today, Tic-Tac-Trivia has many active subscribers who use it for everything from weekly marketing email blasts, to training quizzes for new employees. To try it out, visit the site and check out a quiz or two!
